About Real Madore, our award namesakeReal Madore passed away on Sept. 27, 2020, after battling a brief illness—leaving behind his wife, two children and many loved ones to cherish his memory. He first came to work at Kollsman, Inc., in 1981 as an electro-mechanical technician and became part of the Elbit America family when the two companies combined in 2000. Not only was Real devoted to Elbit America, but he cared deeply about every employee who stepped into our facilities.
At the time of his passing, he served as Vice President of Merrimack Operations. An innovator at heart, he always found a way to get things done. But his interactions and relationships extended far beyond what the title on his door indicated. He was a trusted advisor, wise mentor and loyal friend. He was serious about the work we do to protect and save lives and, at the same time, had a warm sense of humor and was quick to laugh. He embraced the One Elbit Family to its core and always made sure to put employees and their well-being first. Real was the epitome of ethical leadership.
Outside of work, Real was passionate about many philanthropic organizations – including Community Bridges in Concord, N.H. For roughly a decade, he worked tirelessly with a group of like-minded families in an effort to start a supported independent living environment in the community for adults with developmental disabilities. He was also very passionate about Blood Cancer United (formerly Leukemia & Lymphoma Society), rarely missing an opportunity to support the cause or attend a Light The Night event.
The Real Madore Award is one small way Elbit America can honor Real’s legacy by shining a light on leaders in the organization who embody our core values and demonstrate true leadership both at Elbit America and in the community.
